Technology Impact

I interpret Technology in my own words, techniques compiled with specific logic. I have learnt many things on my own by finding answers to few basic questions about any technology or invention or a product or a device as an user. That is why for me any such technology or invention or a product or a device is categorized in two parts User Friendly or Dealer Friendly. As an user I was always interested to get worth for my money or efforts I put in to get a technology or invention or a product or a device useful for me for the time duration or its life.

Dealer has interest only in maximum commercial gains, without any emotions attached to it. For me dealer could be, inventor, designer, producer and an agent or a shop salesman.Digital technology is more dealer friendly than user friendly. Dealers are getting benefited by rapid change in technology or invention or a product or a device getting outdated in couple of years. User is trying to get friendly to this rapid change in short duration.

Most disturbing fact of today’s technological impact is a vicious circle created by a source (developer) then purchased by few manufacturers, which then supplies finished products to the dealers who are simply a middlemen between the source and the user.  So the circle is Source -> Manufacturer -> Dealer ->User. In all of this the person who gets the maximum benefit is the person with the least knowledge which is the dealer who in reality does nothing creative. Whereas the USER whose needs is the main reason for the technology to be introduced  gets the least benefit from any product and has to bear extra cost with updates and consumables. Similar fate shared by the developer whose original ideas never make it to the public instead is diluted by manufacturers across the world.  I have been a victim of this vicious circle.
I am an user of digital technology from 1990, I suffered heavy losses because of the rapid changes in a very short time. From 1985 I bought Nikon F801, F401, F601, F60, F50 for 35 mm films. Now I have to spend more time and money to keep them functioning, today these devices are kept in special bags because outdated. Then A Zenza Bronica SQA for type 120 film roll, just can not afford to use it. Dreaming to get a digital back for it otherwise it has become outdated.

My first digital camera Fujix DSC 505 and 515 had a 1.3 mega pixel image sensor. Today even a child would refuse to touch that camera because he is using 12 mega pixel image sensor in his mobile which he keeps in his pocket. I bought Nikon Coolpix E990 camera in year 2000 having 3.1MPs image sensor. I could capture images for many commercial jobs with that 3.1 MPs image sensor for more than a decade. Recently bought Nikon P90 camera had 12MPs image sensor. Both these cameras are discontinued by the company but some more new models had been introduced to add confusions for we users getting attracted to new developments.

Same is the case of image sensor color quality. 1.3 MPS of a image sensor had distribution of total number of pixel for RGB. Now Sigma – Foveon X3 color image sensor revolutionized the image sensing technology, observe the image to see the difference. As an iTec (I have coined a new word for image Technician the new breed of photographers) I have my highest regards to the entire team of Sigma – Foveon X3 team who made it possible for the quality conscious people to buy across the counter such a camera with high quality color image sensor. I am planning to buy one to enjoy the exceptional image quality and color resolution produced by the Sigma SD15 camera.

Computers and computing changed almost every year. My first Amiga 500 with 1MB RAM and only 880 KB floppy disk for storage in 1990  became obsolete, no support of any kind in the year 1992. I bought Apple Mac LC475, just in two years this computer was not sufficient for my needs, because of low memory and small storage space required for my photo – video – audio jobs. After that I bought, used and sold Mac 8500, Mac Tower 9600, G3 desk top, iBook G3 and now iMac 24 inch. I did try Compaq laptop and then assembled my own desktop PC. today I use two 500 GB and One Tera Byte Hard drives for my various jobs.

I bought storage media zip, jazz, CD, Magneto-optical DVD RAM caddy, Raid hard drives and then double sided double density DVD media and the various drives, then came 1 terabyte SATA hard drive and all that I had to dump soon because solid state drive SSD ready for consumer by Dec 2010 at 960 GB capacity, this device does not have any mechanical moving parts, shock proof and moisture resistant.

When I bought my first Color Image Printer Apple Style Writer II, it was printing at 360 dpi Dot per Inch. Epson Stylus Photo 1200 Ink Jet Printer, it was printing 1440 x 720 dpi, 6-color Photo Reproduction Quality. Epson Stylus Color 3000 Ink Jet Printer was good for wide format, cut sheets, paper or canvas roll printing jobs. I spent more money to buy Xante Color Screen Writer 1200 x 1200 dpi Black, 600 x 600 dpi Color to print photo on standard photocopy paper, and to make CMYK color separated screens on the special transparent media. Today these printers have better connectivity through Internet and Fire wire or IEEE 1394 interface.

I had same experience with my video and audio devices. In November 2010 my Nikon P90 dropped down in a party. There was a shadow in the image and LCD display on top edge, that too only in wide angle settings. The authorized repair shop estimated 15000 rupees for changing the lens assembly. I had bought that camera for 25000 rupees. Watch this video clip, an example of video clip made without proper story and planning.

The Invaders

Continuation of Dharm, Religion, Society, and CasteA group of Vedic Gurus formed a community which insisted that peace and harmony on this planet was better achieved by remaining in sync with nature. But today after disturbing the balance of mother nature there is a sudden awareness of Green environment. Those days to achieve that peace and harmony, every thing was limited to vibrations of living form, it avoided the use of lifeless machines and systems which can create imbalance in nature.

The system I am talking about is before invaders set their foot on this soil. To maintain the peace, this group of Vedic Gurus developed such a system for the society, social structure, social governance which decentralized the ruling system. The governing structure starts with ‘RAJA’ a king. He gave authority to  selected few of his faithful known as ‘Sardar’ whose responsibilities resembles a governor to govern a limited area of land and called it ‘Praant’ knows as State followed by a district governed by a Collector followed by ‘Taluka’ having a ‘Mamaledar’ followed by a Town ship controlled by a Mayor under him villages having ‘Surpanch’. All this had demarcated boundaries to have better control and communication. Even today the same system is in practice for every state.

A village was self sufficient, it had one or more temple to cater spiritual and educational needs of that village. There were one or more ‘Joytishi’, calculating the planet positions and the effects on every individual, weather conditions and informing the people like early warning system. There were ‘Vaidya’ herbal medicine practitioner, using locally grown herbs to prevent epidemics and cure individuals, advising people about dietary habits. There were others like Carpenters, Blacksmith, Meson etc. Such craftsmen and professionals were exchanging their services with food and daily necessities. If there was a case of injustice elderly and experienced people were trying to resolve that case as a big family. Good example of village culture could be seen during the early western culture especially in Ranches of the Wild West popularized through American movies.

In that village animals were used as mode of transport which restricted the speed of movement and set the daily routine depending on physical limits of humans and animals, this reduced the chances of fatal accidents and need of external energy resources. Today most of our routine depends on usage of automated machines  running on fuel and electricity. To maintain our daily routine, energy consumption has increased to alarming level which is creating tension among user and producer of these energy resources.During the reign of a King named Bharat who followed Sanaatan Dharm which means way of life, who governed this land as Bharat Bhumi, which is the biggest source of knowledge, natural resources, craftsmen, medicine, food and many more things in turn keeping this society self-sufficient. This in-turn kept the society engaged with the self-improvement of the dwellers of this land and maintain peace and harmony eliminating the thought of invading other societies for the need of improvement.

This thinking which was non-existent in the rest of the world at that time along with scarcity of many things and food habits affected the powerful people leading to aggressive intent towards the rest of the world. These people became invaders, they made their own religion and decided a Prophet. These invaders use their religion as a tool to invade rest of the world. They portray as if God has given them the authority to spread their religion and destroy those who do not follow their ideology. These effects have also been witnessed in cultures like Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Arabs.

Best example is seen in Iran (formerly Persia), the Arabs invaded Iran and manipulated every thing which Iranians considered as ideals, burnt books respected by them, destroyed monuments and the religion of Zoroastrians. Invaders changed their language, life style and rituals. Same invaders came through Afghanistan to Bharat. During the invasions they killed millions of Hindus in the mountain ranges of Hindukush – which originates from the word “Hindu Koshte” which literally means brutal killing or carnage of Hindus. In reality there is no such religion called as Hindu, just see the meaning and observe the disrespect given by others and our own so called Indians.

Furthermore, a Persian dictionary titled Lughet-e-Kishwari, published in Lucknow in 1964, gives the meaning of the word Hindu as “chore [thief], dakoo [dacoit], raahzan [waylayer], and ghulam [slave].” In another dictionary, Urdu-Feroze-ul-Laghat (Part One, p. 615) the Persian meaning of the word Hindu is further described as barda (obedient servant), sia faam (black color) and kaalaa (black). So these are all derogatory expressions for the translation of the term hindu in the Persian label of the people of India.

During the Mughal regime of 700 years in this land called Bharat, the Muslim invaders  destroyed every thing that the so called Hindusconsidered sacred, respected and worshiped. Then came Christian missionaries as traders and disturbed the whole fabric of so called Hindu society, education and culture.

The following excerpts was shared from this link

“In 1835, Thomas Macaulay articulated the goals of British colonial imperialism most succinctly: “We must do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern, a class of people who are Indian in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinions, words and intellect.” As the architect of Colonial Britain’s Educational Policy in India, Thomas Macaulay was to set the tone for what educated Indians were going to learn about themselves, their civilization, and their view of Britain and the world around them. An arch-racist, Thomas Macaulay had nothing but scornful disdain for Indian history and civilization.

4. Comments on Indian Education:
Gandhi  wrote in the “Harijan” that Indian education made Indian students foreigners in their own country. The Radhakrishnan Commission said in their Report (1950); “one of the serious complaints against the system of education which has prevailed in this country for over a century is that it neglected India’s past, that it did not provide the Indian students with a knowledge of their own culture. It had produced in some cases the feeling that we are without roots, and what is worse, that our roots bind us to a world very different from that which surrounds us”.
The maximum damage to old Sanaatan Dharm “way of life” is caused by This British Education introduced during British Raj. Among the so called educated elite it became a fashion to abuse everything taught by Sanaatan Dharm “way of life” and promote every thing coming from the west as modern, more scientific way of living. I will talk about Education as a Tool to damage the well established proven Vedic system. How the various proofs were destroyed or damaged or twisted i shall share it in the next topic.

Dharm, Religion, Society, and Cast

Continuation of Human?. . . .During the period of Ved every Master or Guru or Rushy as a human being had acquired the deep knowledge of a particular force created by main Natural Energy Vibrations. To each force the respective Rushi gave a name as a Dev or Devi for the benefit of a layman. These Rushi or Guru realized the need to maintain the harmony and continuity of human race, they collectively helped to form a set of rules and duties to be followed by every individual human being and acknowledged those rules as Sanatan Dharm, had no originator, never ending and no location boundaries.
But Religion is formed by an individual, as a representative of God and acknowledged as Prophet. Religion has various interpretation of rules and duties to be followed by every individual human being depending upon the location of that prophet. The followers of the Sanatan Dharm were formed as a large group called Samaj = society. The Rushi or Guru had knowledge and expertise of each organ in a human body, so they formed the society as a human body working with collective process of each organ. They developed the society in four classified groups – Bramhan – Kshatriya – Vaishaya – Shoodra (not Kshudra means neglected) of individuals, who had specific qualities and abilities to perform.
Brahman – as an adviser, the duties of a Brahman was to gather and process external and internal information for betterment of the society, other three organs had to help these advisers to function, not to create a hurdle. Kshatriya – to take care of external and internal safety / security measures for the society, other three organs had to help Hands and Legs to carryout the duties in best possible manner. Vaisha – to deal with external and internal required resources of every organ of the society, other three organs had to help   Vaisha organs to function. Shoodra – to handle internal required communications of each and every organ, irrespective of importance in the society. Other three organs had to help the Shoodra organ to function with equal importance as others. Every individual of the society had to take care of his/her own hygiene and the disposal without disturbing others. The Cast was decided as per a job selected by an individual for living a comfortable life, provided he or she had ability to carry out that job. It was not necessary, the children born in a cast can not select some other job. The selected job used to affect the daily routine, so the food habits/intake, so the thinking habits, so the approach to life. Every Cast had equal importance and bindings in the society like a normal human being following the law of Sanatan Dharm. Today there are lot of confusion and hate campaigns to abuse that old society structure and the way of life. There are followers of modern way of living, expecting change in life style like changes of natural seasons. I do not find any change in the structure or form of seasons causing drastic change in human forms and daily routine. This modern way of life, society is a public limited company with pyramid like structure, someone at the top and rest are spread within the boundaries of that pyramid with levels spreading from top to bottom, accepted by the top boss. There is a CEO, advisers / directors, group of executives, managers, supervisors, workers and then beggars searching for the food. This modern society has no binding of Dharm or Religion, conventional Class or Cast. Each group in this company has unions to put forward the demands of each follower of that group. There is separate education system to qualify an individual in particular field of services. The fact is the education system and syllabus are controlled by a CEO or advisers or executives from this public limited company. This new public limited company has goals, aiming for monetary gains, for that these people are ready to sell this company to highest bidder, if possible acquire other companies by wooing them for better life. Oh no, there is no room for human emotions and values, money is God.
I wonder by Whom, Why, How the Sanatan Dharm was twisted, interpreted as outdated and so neglected in this modern India. Though Sanatan Dharm existed in this part of the world for millions of years, even today there are followers / admirers and will be there in future, I hope so.
Next The Invaders.

Me a Human ?

I expected others should treat me as a human being. Others differed, they thought I was not behaving like human being. I searched for definition, had opportunity to discuss with others, which helped me to reach some conclusions.Being a human this is my perception that this universe has vibrating energy caused by imbalance of body mass of every form in the universe. Naturally other than human no one else bothers or has ability to think about universe on this planet Earth. My existence is a result of resonance to that vibrating energy. My body mass has ability to produce certain set of frequencies which are resonated to part of that main vibrating energy of this universe. I realized this while looking at a daily TV serial. There are number of TV channels transmitting set of frequencies. A tuner device of my TV set is creating some set of frequencies. When I select a channel frequency it gets resonated to the right kind of channel frequency out of the set of frequencies existing in the atmosphere. I see images of the original program created in the studio of respective channel, not the original objects.Me being a human has more number of resonated vibrations of the main source of vibrating energy of the universe. It is like the effects of an earthquake, maximum near the epicenter, then there is change in the effects further away from epicenter. That is other than humans every other life form has lesser effects of the main vibrating energy. The Guru’s of Bharatiya culture has found the two stages of forms created by this universal vibrating energy, Living and Non living forms; living forms do not require external energy to move, it has time duration to sustain the living state once the duration reaches the limit the living form is called dead. Nonliving forms require external energy to make any movement. There are four sub set of living forms Jaraj, Andaj, Shwedaj and Udbij.

Jaraj female gives birth to a fully functional body form.

Andaj female gives birth to an egg and after some duration a living body form comes out of that egg.

The Shwedaj form is created by sweat or urine or manure or feces, such as worms, amoeba, bacteria, etc.

Udbij form is created from seeds coming in contact with each other or soil, such as flowers, plants, fruits, etc.

All Jaraj are not human. A human form is most of its life time remain vertical, it means all the body parts are in steps and away from ground. Any other form of Jaraj has all body parts in one line horizontal to ground. Only Humans have Mind an ability to process memorized information and act accordingly. I am proud to be a human.

My action and reaction to an incident or an event or environmental changes is based on the condition of my mind, like a programmable BIOS in computer terminology. The information programing of my mind happens during the period of pregnancy and the information is related to the physical / mental conditions affecting my mother during that period. There is physical and mental difference between me and my other bothers – sisters. This had caused mainly because of age, diet, mental tensions, which changed the ability of my mother to produce my body mass. My body mass has the ability to get resonated to various vibrations of main universal vibrating energy. During pregnancy my mother followed certain diet to keep her and me healthy and taken care of my body mass development. After my birth she used special treatment on each food items, selection, cleaning, cooking, feed timing, etc. The treated food and habits kept me healthy as a child. I wonder what kind of treated food habits are followed by a mother begging on the street for her child? Does that child get good or bad food, how or who can decide this?

The condition of my body mass after treatment gave me ability to digest information of life around me. This information was recorded in my brain and my mind was developing the qualities like, sharp or dull, pessimistic or optimistic, and many other forms. I know I was becoming very inquisitive, asking why, how, who, when for any incident or object I saw. I was gathering information and knowledge from each and everything around me as per my capacity.

My parents had decided and told to me what was wrong or right, till I was in the four walls of my house, following or not those rules, I was considered as good or bad boy. The confusion started when I had to mingle with the neighbors, there was difference in thinking process. I was exposed to Cast, Class and the hatred.

There wear two Sindhi boys ( community coming from Sindh area) Lalwani and Bhavanani, fighting, tearing cloths for a full page photograph of an actress. Bhavanaani sold that photo for 50 paise to Lalwani, he was trying to sell the same to some one for 2 rupees. Bhavanani was asking to sell the same to him for 1 rupee. This was introduction to me of Buying or Selling Cast and community.

One more incident, I was a child staying with my parents in a rented flat of a building, the owner was Marwadi, a businessman from Marawad then, now Rajasthan. Once I was talking to son of that marwadi house owner “do you find time to do your homework given by teacher?” He answered like true blood of a businessman ” I give biscuit and sweets to a boy in my tuition class, that boy completes my homework.” I was taught and made to follow different way of life, I used to get biting if fell to do my homework, I never used these tricks.

In front of same building there used to be weekly market on every Sunday. In that market I had seen a special cast or class of people buying Pork or Pig meat. As a Brahmin I was not allowed to even think of pork. I had seen these pig eating dirt from toilets, same pig was getting cut and the meat was sold to people as a food, in that market. I was shocked to know In other parts of the world how pigs are developed in such hygienic condition with special care as important food.

My father built a house when I was teenager. My neighbor was of farmer’s background , yet he was a principal of a secondary school, his wife was also principal of a primary school, they had built a three storied building with flush type Toilets, their grandchildren used to sit for toilet under a tree in front of our house. I objected to that behavior, that principal of a school gave me shocking answer “you Brahmin boy, if you do not like this, leave this place and find a place in Brahmin community.” Thank god I was not his student.

These and many more incidents made me to search about Cast, Class and the disparity of thinking and behavior pattern. Next post – Dharm, Religion, Society and Cast.
